I am a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University at Albany (SUNY), in the College of Nanotechnology, Science, and Engineering (CNSE), where I direct the PEARL Lab (People-Empowered Experiences, AI & Responsible Learning). My research sits at the intersection of human-computer interaction (HCI), computing education, and inclusive design. I use qualitative and design-based methods to study how emerging technologies like large language models and generative AI can shape more equitable educational futures.

Teaching and mentorship are at the heart of my academic path, and I'm dedicated to building learning spaces that inspire curiosity, support growth, and cultivate a sense of inclusion and belonging. I also serve as faculty advisor for the UAlbany Coding Club.

Previously, I completed my Ph.D. at Oregon State University in the EPIC Lab with Dr. Anita Sarma, followed by postdoctoral research at UAlbany. During my doctoral studies I collaborated across academia and non-profits focused on broadening participation in computing.

Fall 2026: Started as a tenure-track Assistant Professor at UAlbany and launched the PEARL Lab (People-Empowered Experiences, AI & Responsible Learning), studying HCI, computing education, and responsible AI.

April 2025: I presented our recent work on Systematizing Inclusive Design in MOSIP at the IEEE/ACM International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE 2025) in Ottawa!

Jan 2025: Our paper Insights from the Frontline: GenAI Utilization Among Software Engineering Students got accepted to ICSE 2025!
